Coral Spawning experience
Join us for a coral spawning monitoring dive and have a chance to collect the gametes when the spawning happens!

Only on certain moments of the year, coral spawning happen during the night. Each specie of coral spawn on a different day and at a different time. We will be diving on those days and be ready to collect the gametes when spawning happens. You can join us for this experience, and take a chance to observe this unique event!
Depending on the specie of coral that is supposed to spawn on that day, we will dive from the beach or from the boat. If the spawning happens and if we can collect the gametes, we will bring them to FUNDEMAR‘s Coral Assisted Reproduction Lab, and hopefully they will become coral larvae and then baby corals!
We recommend you to plan several dives during several days to have a better chance to observe coral spawning, because we are never sure of the exact days of the coral spawning.
