Eco Tour to Saona Island, Mano Juan & Canto de la Playa
Full day boat trip to most remote beaches of Saona Island, with snorkeling
Unlike mass tourism excursions, we offer you to discover the most remote beaches of Saona Island. This boat eco-tour is done on our small boat, Wanda (max. 6 people) or in our medium boat, Explorer (max. 10-12 people), always in very small groups.
During this full day by boat, you can admire the turquoise waters and the paradisiacal landscapes of the Natural Pool and the mangroves, and visit the most remote beaches of Saona Island, as well as the fishing village, Mano Juan. You can also swim in the Natural Pool, a shallow sandbar in the sea, where we will serve you the traditional Dominican aperitif.
This eco-tour includes:
– a stop at the mangroves to try to see the turtles from the boat and to observe the starfishes,
– a visit of the fishing village of Mano Juan, the only village on Saona Island, and visit of the sea turtle protection center (it is sometimes possible to see baby turtles if births have happened a few days before your visit),
– a typical lunch, served in a local restaurant in the Mano Juan village,
– a visit of Canto de la Playa beach, the most beautiful wild beach on the island, far from the crowds of tourists. Those who wish can also do snorkeling in the lagoon to observe fishes and corals (accessible to beginners and more experienced alike),
– a stop at the Natural Pool, a shallow sandbank in the middle of the sea, where we will serve you the traditional Dominican aperitif, and you can snorkel with the giant cushion starfishes.
